July 27/17

Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful summer!  We have been so lucky with such amazing weather!  Hopefully none of you have been affected by the terrible wildfires that are burning in our province and if you are, our thoughts are with you.

I just got a new work computer so am excited to be using it!  I went on the portal and saw that several parents have not yet viewed their child's report cards.  Not being a parent in the district I am not sure exactly how it works but please check the parent portal and hopefully it is straight forward.

Have lots of fun this last month of holidays!

June 16th

Wow it's hard to believe that June is half over.   We had more coding fun with our big buddies...
Bowling was a huge success as the children all reported back that it was awesome. Thanks again to all our parent drivers :)

Fun Day - was also lots of fun!  Thanks to all parents who made this special day possible.

Upcoming activities and notices...

Next Wednesday some of the classes are having a special red and white day to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday!  If possible your children should wear anything red or white!

Next week we will be collecting all JRR books (I will be doing this Tuesday or Wednesday so I can return them all to the bookroom for inventory - please encourage your child to finish their books).  Also if everyone could please look at home for any classroom or library books.  I have already had several students bring in a piles of books.  Thanks!

Please help your children practice the body poem that is in their book bag and poetry and more duotang.  They will be presenting these as part of a group next week and some of the words are challenging!

Pizza lunch for Div. 7 is on Friday, June 23rd.  Please still send in snacks and other food for their lunch as they will only be getting a couple of pieces of pizza each.

June 9th

We had a presentation from ARMS on Wednesday that taught us all to be WaterWise!  It was interesting, taught us the water cycle and made us all realize how limited water really is!  Only 3% is drinkable so we talked about different ways to conserve water.  This would be a great conversation to have at home.

Jake, Rachel and Nathan were our Scientist this week.  We learned a great way to clean pennies, how to create bubbles and heat and a different way to make elephant toothpaste!

Next Thursday, June 15th we are bowling in the afternoon.  Please sign up and send in the $2 (with your child's shoe size) as soon as possible.  We have enough drivers so will probably drive some of Mrs. Robert's students as they are short a couple spots.  Thanks to the Fairview PAC for helping to pay for both of these special activities.

I sent out an email about chicken pox but I just wanted to remind you that the boy from Mrs. Robert's class had been vaccinated and was at school while he was contagious. Unfortunately you are contagious before you even know you have it and because we often combine classes I thought it was important for you to know and to keep a look out.  A fever is often a first sign.

3 classes (Mrs. Robert's and our grade 2/3 and Mrs. Hutchin's grade 3) have planned some cool math stations focusing on Geometry, Fractions and Measurement.  Over the next few weeks we will be rotating from class to class.  This week Div. 7 worked on fractions with me.  If you could discuss and review these at home that would be great e.g.) you are having pizza - how much of the pizza did you each eat?  2/8ths or 3/10ths?

We also started new explorations stations.  Ask your child about Lego Math?  Our Body Science - we have some pretty cool stuff at this station!

Volunteer Tea on Tuesday, June 13th in the afternoon, hopefully you can make it.  I want to thank all of you for your support and your help this year.  I have felt very lucky to have such a great group of parents!!

Next Friday is Fun Day hopefully we will have nice weather!

June 2nd

Buddies this week was pretty cool as we were coding and learning how to program the Dash and spheros.

Scientist this week were Sarah, Eli, Brooklyn, E.J. and Alanna.    We learned about raining colours, how colour can change milk,  how to blow up a balloon without our air, how to make gummy worms dance and how a volcano erupts!

Our field trip to the SPCA was a big success.  Thanks to all our parent drivers who made this trip possible.  The children loved seeing Lyle the pot belly pig, the guinea pigs, cats, rats, sheep, the cow and llama plus the horses.  They reviewed the 5 rules we need to remember when we are around animals focusing on their well-being.   We gave them our donation of $527.55, they were very thankful.  Thanks again to all the parents who sent in goodies for our bake sale,  This whole project we used as our community goal helping the students realize they can make a difference.

We had our last Falcon Fun and despite getting a bit wet it was once again enjoyed by all.

Reminder that Thursday, June 15th is our bowling field trip.  Please sign up if you haven't and send in the $2.00 asap.  Thanks

Spelling this next week is a review and will be our last spelling lesson of the year.  The students will be putting dots on every second word and writing those words in their planners.  These are the words I will test them on. Please note I forgot to hand out the quizzes from this week, I will do that on Monday,  Sorry.

Our year end celebration will be on Wednesday, June 28th. Alanna, Joe, Sam, Eli, Angelina and Gavin will be supplying the goodies. I will send out another reminder close to the date.

Please note the change of field trip to Rev's bowling - it is Thursday, June 15th please sign up on the portal.
Div. 7 won the pizza lunch contest from the PAC as we raised the most $ for the raffles!  We will have this pizza lunch on Friday, June 23rd.

Our hallways are looking bare but not for long!  On May 31st our Gallery Walk will be up and parents are welcome to come and see the amazing art projects that have been done by Fairview students over the last few weeks of school.  Each child has chosen their favourite piece and it is on display somewhere in the school.

May 19th

Scientists this week were Sienna, Ashton, Sam and Charlotte.  Ask your child about 'walking water', 'elephant toothpaste', 'lemon light' and 'can you bend water with a balloon'!  All four very cool experiments!

We are now finished our healthy living stations with our buddies.  A big thank you to Mrs. Carpenter for helping out for each of the six rotations.

I have now added a gadget to this blog that will allow you to get email reminders when I have updated the blog, sorry I know it is the middle of May :(   I had forgotten I did that last year!

Thanks to the PAC we will only be charging $2.00 for the bowling and a special Water Wise Presentation by the A.R.M.S. society that our class will have on June 7th.

Please ensure that your child is practicing his/her 'Body Poems' as we will be presenting these at the student star assembly on May 30th.

A parent from Mrs. Robert's class told her about a cool opportunity through Value Village.  If you take in a clothing donation your child will get a free book!  This is a great way to add to your home/the classroom library:   https://www.valuevillage.com/donate

Here is a message from our librarian, Mrs. Neufeld:
'The Library will be closing down for the summer a bit early this year,  because we are going to do inventory.  Last day for book exchange will be May 31.  All books must be back into the Library by June 5.   Fines and late books must be paid by June 21.    I will send home a notice for overdue books!  However, if students owe money for a book but cannot find it or pay for it,  they may bring a' like-new' book from their house to replace it'.

A reminder to please make sure your child is appropriately dressed for the weather as we do spend time outside each day.  If your child is wearing sandals as the weather heats up please include runners/socks in your child's backpack to ensure they are ready for action!  Sunscreen, hats and water bottles are also a great idea.

Hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend (it looks we might even have some nice weather!)
Please remember that next Tuesday, May 23rd there is no school for students as it is a Pro D day.  Also note that there will be no spelling next week due to the short week.  Hawaiian Day is next Friday!

May 12th

Division 7 has had another busy week.  This week in our body unit we learned about the small and large intestine and the kidneys.  Ask your child about the experiments that we did for these.  They were amazed to learn how long the small intestine is but were a little grossed out with how it mashes the food :(   We will be doing a presentation at the next assembly singing all these body songs sharing all that they have learned about the human body.

In Math we are also learning more about multiplication and division.  If you are wanting to help your child to understand these better, this is the way we are breaking it down...
  # of groups    X    # of things in each group = total number
eg)   I have 2 groups of 6  2x6=12     or      6 groups of 2   6x2=12
and total number divide by # of groups = # in each group
eg) 12 cookies divided by 2 people  equals 6 - each person
(This way we are all explaining it the same way)

This weeks scientists were Angelina, Luca, Carson, Gianna and Gavin.  All the students are doing a great job.  This is not only a great way to learn about different science concepts but also an opportunity to practice their public speaking skills.  Thank you for helping your child prepare.

Fidget spinners have definitely become very popular!  They can come to school but they are only to be used at specific times (we have discovered they are a great toy but not really a fidget that helps us focus and calms our body and brains).

We have a special presentation in early June and are in the process of planning our year end field trip.  I will be sending out more information about this very soon.

Hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!  Relax and enjoy!

May 5th

Wow it's hard to believe it is already May!!

'The Earth Is In Our Hands' ....
To celebrate Earth Day we all brainstormed ways to save our planet and how we can all do our part as we realize  what we do and don't do affects the earth!
Our scientists, this week did a great job!   Adam taught the class about static and magnetism.

Claire and Mason made lava lamps explaining how water and oil don't mix but when you add an ant-acid there is a chemical reaction.  Claire also explained how water is a polar molecule and oil is non-polar.

On Thursday we finally had nice weather for our Falcon Fun!

We have also continued to work on our Body unit.  Today we demonstrated how the stomach would digest banana and crackers!   Ask your child about our experiment!

April 29th

Division 7 is now studying the human body and learning about all the different organs.  We have now completed the heart and the lungs.

In Math we have covered place value and addition with and without regrouping.  If you have a chance to review these with your child that would be great.  Hopefully they remember to tell you that they have to start at the ones no matter how many digits the numbers are that they are adding.  We have just started subtraction of two and three digit numbers and are learning that they sometimes need to 'borrow' so that they can subtract.  This is a difficult concept for some so we will be focusing on this for awhile.   Practicing all basic addition and subtraction facts would be helpful to make these next steps easier.  Thanks for your support with this.

Ask your child about the healthy living stations we are doing with our big buddies. ??? The students are rotating through 6 different stations (food inventions, serving sizes for different food groups, sorting food into food groups, creating an exercise routine that they lead the classes in, learning how to read /hopefully start to understand food labels and 'moo-gamy' plus food riddles).  This week went very well and everyone was engaged in their activities.  Thanks to Miranda for helping out!

Remember that there is no school for students on Monday as it is a Pro D Day. We will not be doing spelling this week as it is a short week but will resume on May 10th.  I forgot to hand back their spelling quiz on Friday but will do so on Tuesday.

Hopefully you all received the Scientist of the Day information sheets.  If you didn't or have any questions please just contact me.

New Just Right Reading went home on Friday.  Please ensure that your child brings these to school daily.  Thanks.  I have updated the calendar on this blog (sorry) forgot to do this sooner!

Have a great weekend.  Sheralyn

April 21st

Finally a sunny day - hope you all are enjoying today and evening as it isn't suppose to last :(!

This week was short but busy.  We had our second rotation of FALCON FUN on Thursday morning, this week the weather was better and learning and fun was had by all!  Then Thursday afternoon we went to see The Lion King at the ACT.  Thanks so much to Adam, Gianna, Angelina, Ashton, Mason, E.J. and Sienna's parent or grandparent for driving and making this field trip possible.  The students all really enjoyed the play specifically the music, costumes, background/props, singing and action of the story.  They also really enjoying getting autographs after the play.

Next week we are back to our regular spelling - words home on Monday and quiz on Friday.  Sorry with the confusion last week (but we thought it made sense with two short weeks).

April 13th

This was a short but busy week!  We did start spelling on Wednesday and will have the quiz next Friday.  With all the rain we have had we did a rainy day wash in art. For those of you that haven't been at the school this is our new bulletin board.

Div. 7 also did a great job on their pastel Easter eggs!  Every one looks amazing and all are very unique!  Do stop by the class to see these as they look even better up

Falcon Fun is Thursday morning and our field trip to the Act is in the afternoon.  We will need all the drivers that have signed up and we will be leaving the school by 12 so if you could please be here by 11:55.   Several students still have not paid so please send the money in on Tuesday.  Thanks!

Happy Easter Everyone - hope you have a great long weekend!  Hopefully the sun will come out to stay for a couple days!

April 7th

This week we finished our Nutrition unit and I was very impressed with how much all the students have learned.  Please look over their booklet with them to see what we have focused on and to also review this important information.  We are now moving onto our study of the human body.

Yesterday was our first FALCON FUN and despite the yucky weather all the students seemed to really enjoy their different stations.

Thanks for signing up on the portal for our field trip on April 20th.  Please send in the money as soon as possible.  It looks like we have enough drivers - thank you in advance!

FYI - we have had a case of lice in the classroom again so please be checking child's head regularly as the soon it is dealt with the better (never easy but better).

We have had some creative building during Explorations!

We have tentatively planned our walk to Starbucks for our free hot chocolate for Wednesday morning right after recess (10:25 am) so if anyone would like to join us you are more than welcome.  We do have 4 adults for Div. 7 and 8 so we have enough but you are free and want to join us please come talk to me Monday or Tuesday.

With Easter just around the corner we have two 4 day weeks so we will be doing spelling but won't start until Wednesday and the quiz will be the following Friday.  So don't expect the words until Wednesday.

Have a great weekend.

March 31

Many of you may have seen this on Facebook but here is our Courage Book...

Hopefully you have already seen our field trip notice for the Lion King at the ACT.  If you haven't checked and filled out the information on the portal please do so as soon as possible.  Thanks!

Div. 7 & 8 parents/grandparents are amazing!  We made over $500.00 at our bake sale for the SPCA!

Scholastic orders went home but I forgot to include the due date, it is next Thursday, April 6th.

We started new explorations this week which the students are excited about especially using the Ipads or computer to do some coding!  I have added this link on the blog under useful links.

Spelling next week will be a review week, it will include all short vowel words so if you wanted to start practicing this weekend you could review the words from previous word lists.

March 10th

Thanks to all of you for sending in baked goods for our SPCA fundraiser!   We are so lucky to have your support and help whenever we ask.  Special thanks to Mason, Ashton, Averyelle, Nathan and Sienna's moms for helping to organize and sell all of these treats!  Speaking of bake sale - we made close to $500.00.  We had a great math lesson of sorting, counting money and then adding the totals together!  We will need some parents after the break to re-count and roll the coins.

Thank you to our parent/grandparent drivers for taking us to/from skating.  It's exciting to see how much the children have improved since our first skating in the fall.

I am not sure you all had a chance to check out our buddy activity that we did based on Martin Luther King so wanted to share this photo!   We have a Dream!

The permission for our field trip to the ACT Theater will be coming out after Spring Break, we will need parent drivers for this trip on Thursday, April 20th (leaving the school at 12:00), returning around home time.

I didn't send home the report cards today, my apologies, with our Club RED celebration it was a very busy day and they got buried on my desk.  Our club RED celebration was a big success and Div. 7 came in second place so we will be planning a walking field trip to Starbucks for hot chocolate!

Hope you all have a fun and relaxing spring break.  I am looking forward to going to Alberta to spend some time with my parents.

February 24th

PAC Treat Days next Monday and Tuesday - Chips and Popsicles $1
Please remember to have your child complete their Club RED calendar if they are reading each day and you should also be initialing each square.  Completed calendars (with their names on them) should be returned at the end of next week.  Monday the 6th at the latest.  Our celebration will be March 10th when your child should wear red!

Monday we had our SPCA visit which focused on Kindness. In our Poetry and More books today we added a sheet that is homework based on what we learned about how to act around a stray dog.  Please ensure your child does this and discuss it with them as this is a very valuable lesson.  Thanks
We will be having our bake sale on Wednesday, March 8th. We are hoping that every student from both Div. 7 & 8 can bring in baked goodies or treats of some kind and we will also need some parents to help out with the sales at recess and lunch.  Also on Thursday at recess if we have any leftovers.

A few of you have still not signed up for conferences next week so please do so asap.  Please note that there is an early dismissal on Thursday (11:00) and there is no school Friday except for conferences.   There will be no spelling next week due to the conferences.

100 Day was a success!  I was so impressed with all the creative 100 projects that the students brought in! Ms Affleck came and did a cool lesson based on the book The Hundred Pound Problem.  The students worked in partners to show their thinking and how they thought the problem could be solved.  We also had 100 day stations so they rotated from our class  where we did 100 actions,  to Mrs. Roberts for a 100 Building Structures and then Mrs. Hutchins for math games.  Please note we are trying to collect 100 cans to give to the food bank so if you could donate that would be great!

Some of you maybe noticed that I am now marking words in their spelling wrong if they have a capital letter when it isn't needed.  We have worked on this extensively so feel that this might help them to realize the importance of only using upper case letters when needed.

Our skating field trip on March 9th went out on the portal this afternoon.  We do need parent drivers - thank you in advance.  This is our last skating for the year!

Feb. 17th

Our Valentine's celebration was fun, all the students were so excited to both give and receive and read their valentines.  Thanks to those who brought in the food snacks and goodies!
We focused on friendship this week and looked closely at two great books.  Owen and Mzee - The True Story of a Remarkable Friendship.  I have included the Owen and Mzee website on our useful links as your child would probably love to explore this!  We also listened and watched the book Enemy Pie - have your child tell you about this focusing on the problem and the solution of the story.

The SPCA presentation on Monday is called the Kindness Counts program to teach children empathy towards animals, people and their environment by discovering their similarities and differences and how our actions can have positive and negative consequences.  This fits perfectly with our courage unit. A special feature of this program will include the inclusion of a classroom visit by a well socialized dog (the dog will be under adult control).  The students are really looking forward to this.  Please send in $2.00 for this presentation.  Thanks to those who have already paid.

If you haven't already signed up for conferences please do so as they are only a couple weeks away.

Club Red is well under way.  Remember that you need to sign each heart after your child reads and then he/she can colour it.

Please see the calendar on this blog for other special days happening this month, next week is another crazy week as we have 3 special celebrations in a row!

Also please bring in 100 day representations by Thursday the 23rd.  Thank you!

Feb. 9th

This has definitely been our shortest (and craziest!) week ever with both Monday and Tuesday being snow days and now we are off tomorrow.  Remember as well there is no school on Monday because of Family Day and Tuesday because of the Curriculum Implementation Day.  Our Valentine's celebration will be on Wednesday, Feb. 15th in the afternoon.   Students are welcome to bring valentines for their classmates - all the students names were posted on last weeks blog post.  Thanks to the following students for providing our yummy snacks.   Rachel - Fruit Tray, Luca - Veggie Tray, Charlotte - Cheese/crackers or small sandwiches, Mason - Sweet Treat,  Adam - popcorn/chips or pretzels, Shayla - other??.   We didn't get a chance to go on Spelling City for lesson 2 so it would be great if you could have your child practice over this long weekend.

Club RED Number Day was a success with lots of creative ideas for ways to display numbers. We had lots of numbers represented here but #5 seemed to be a favourite!

Today we were really lucky to have Claire's mom Lisa come to our class to teach us all about the importance of hand washing and whether Bugs Need Drugs?  Your child should have brought home a booklet about this - please review this with your child.  Div. 7 were great listeners during this presentation and seemed to really enjoy it!  Thanks again Lisa!

Friday, Feb. 17 - Dress up as your Favourite Book Character

February 3rd

Spelling started this week as you hopefully have seen from the planner, the letter and/or from your child bringing their duotang home to finish up their spelling activities.  I have also included Spelling City on the useful links on the front of the blog - this is a great way for your child to practice their words and the spelling focus for the week.

Club RED also started on Wednesday, so hopefully everyone one from Div. 7 is reading every day and recording it by colouring in their heart calendar (parents please remember to sign each dated box after reading).   Everyone participated in pajama day today and hallway reading was a big success - Div. 7 were all big buddies which they loved!

For  anyone who wants to get started on their valentines below are all the names of the students in Div. 7...
     Alanna     Melissa   Claire
Angelina   Eli  Sienna  Sarah
Gavin   Rachel    Averyelle   Sam
Carson   E.J.   Nathan  Mason   Luca
Adam   Shayla    Joe     Ashton
Brooklyn   Gianna   Jake  Charlotte

Hundred Day is on Thursday, Feb. 23 - so you can also think about some kind of collection that you want to make.  I will be handing out paper after Valentines is over.

We are completely out of Kleenex so if anyone could donate some boxes to the class that would really be appreciated.

January 27th

Our field trip to Save On Foods was excellent.  Thank you to Adam, Mason, Sienna, Luca and Ashton's moms and E.J.'s dad for helping with out this trip. Not only did we learn so much about the 4 different food groups but we also followed Mrs. Roberts class' coding instructions to make sure we went the best route and reviewed the directions N S E W plus left and right.  Yesterday we calculated all those steps and discovered that we walked 2,928! We added all the steps together and then multiplied it by 2 to get our total.  This didn't count all the steps we took in the store so we were well over 3,000!
Please continue to send in cereal boxes and food flyers for our buddy project and nutrition unit.

I was away today at a workshop on Performance Standards (our district is trying to have every teacher attend this year) but I heard that Twin Day was a big success.  All week we have had many students away due to illness.  Hopefully everyone is feeling better soon and please remind your child of the importance of washing their hands well. We have also had lice reported so please do regular checks and treat if needed.  Thanks.

We will be starting our spelling program on Monday.  You will be receiving an important letter in your child's planner which explains the program we will be using.  We realize that the words on the list may appear quite easy for some children but we will be doing a variety of activities around these (adding prefixes, suffices, defining, looking for word patterns etc.) and will also have surprise 'Bonus' words each week that follow the same pattern.

'Club Red' will be starting on Wednesday.  Papers will go out Tuesday. Students will be expected to read every day for the month of February and parents will need to sign each day as it is completed.  There will be a big school wide celebration at the beginning of March and there will be an opportunity for prizes to be won for those who participate.  There is also the possibility of winning a class pizza party if all of the calendars are signed/coloured/returned at the end of the month.

Looking ahead...
We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Feb. 15th and I will be putting a list of all the names next week so students can start to work on valentines if they wanted.  Please note that if your child is going to bring valentines it is important that they have a valentine for every child in the class so that everyone is included.  Thanks for your support with this.

Hundred Day will be Thursday, Feb. 23 (students should be thinking of collections of something ?? be creative that they'd like to bring in).  More info on this soon.

We have now confirmed a third opportunity to go skating on the afternoon March 9th and we are going to see a play at the ACT theater on April 20th.  You will receive portal announcements on both of these events closer to the date.

Friday, January 20, 2017

January 20th

Another busy week in Div. 7...   Thanks to those that have sent in
cereal boxes please continue to do so - we plan to use them on Thursday.  We also need any food flyers so please send any in.  We also need any fabric that you could donate to make clothing for our cardboard people. Thank you.

We will be walking to Save On Foods this coming Wednesday.  We have just started our nutrition unit so this trip will be an excellent opportunity to learn about nutrition.  Even though some students went to Save On last year their knowledge about nutrition is quite limited.

This week all students got new JRR books.  Please ensure your child is bringing those books back and forth to school daily as we do use them in class too.

Just for your information, the Maple Ridge Library is hosting Family Literacy Day January 28th so you might want to check it out.

I have been away a lot recently which I really don't like but the reason I have been away is to attend different meetings which I am very excited about.  I am part of the Literacy Network and we are developing our Language Arts program with the support of great helping teachers.  On Tuesday morning I was at a Curriuculm Inquiry session which is where we are developing  our whole unit on courage.  We heard a fantastic presentor who really inspired and educated us,  Every Wednesday Ms Roberts, Ms Neufeld and I are working together in the library to help the students learn about courage, help them understand the different feelings involved and how to react to situations, not to mention help them develop their confidence and become more aware of their feelings and others.
The other workshop  I went to was on how to teach children to code - something I never thought I would be doing but it was very exciting and we will be starting in our class next week.  Fairview got 5 new Sphero  (little robots) the students will learn how to code and manipulate!  Should be fun!  We will keep you posted.

January 13th, 2017

Friday the 13th!  Hope you have still had a great day!
With our buddies this week we learned about Martin Luther King and his dream for equality.  We also discussed their own dreams of how to make our world a better place.  If you could discuss this more at home that would be great to strengthen their understanding and empathy of others.
We made some cool snow angels which you will need to come see outside our classroom.
I have extended the Scholastic deadline to Tuesday as a few parents and students said they were interested.
The PAC bottle drive is tomorrow, Saturday, Jan 14th between 8 - 1.   Please bring by any bottles and come help out if you are available.   Thank you, we have such great parents and PAC at Fairview which gives all the children so many great opportunities, playground equipment etc. (the list is endless!)
A few students have brought home some theme work to finish up over the weekend.  I also didn't end up changing JRR books as many students needed more time with their old books but will do it on Tuesday.  Please ensure your child brings back all their books (if they are in the middle of a chapter book though they can of course keep it until they are done).
Just a reminder to everyone who has not sent in the $10 for the memory books pleas do so as soon as possible.  Thanks!
Please remember that there is no school on Monday for students as it is a Pro D day for teachers.
Have a great weekend!

January 9, 2017

Happy New Year everyone!  Hopefully you had an enjoyable, relaxing holiday with family and friends.  Winter has definitely stayed with us so we decided to spend this first couple weeks actually studying snow and winter.  Ask your child about some of the experiments we have done this week.  They enjoyed drawing these cool winter snow tree pictures!  Don't they look cool!

We were all excited to finally share the bat books that we worked so hard on.   Your child has brought home an odd/even New Years game that would be great to play this weekend.

Just right reading will be changed at the end of next week so if you didn't have much time for reading over the break please do it over the next few days.

As you can see the students had a great time out in the forest on Thursday.

Our field trip to Save On Foods will be on January 25th from approximately 9:30 - 11:30.  We will need parent volunteers.  The January calendar has been updated so please check this,
Fairview PAC is putting on a bottle drive on Saturday, Jan. 14th.  Each of your children will have brought home a form looking for volunteers.  If you are unable to volunteer but have bottles that you would like to donate, please drop them by the school tomorrow morning.  Thanks so much!
